Our mission
Our mission is to improve the lives of the women who come to our clinic through a holistic and individualized approach to pelvic health. We aim to challenge prevailing norms and redefine what is considered "normal" so that those dealing with common pelvic floor disorders are more aware of what’s going on with their body and the treatments available to them.
Just like people go to the dentist twice a year, it's important to see a physical therapist even if you're not in pain (especially if you’re an expecting or new mom).
Our approach
We believe in treating the whole body and getting to the root of the problem. We educate our patients and create custom exercise and wellness programs that are specific to their goals and sustainable for their busy lives.
Manual Therapy - Soft tissue mobilization, trigger point release, joint mobilization, myofascial release (internal and external), scar mobilization, abdominal massage, visceral manipulation, cupping (static and dynamic), and Kinesio taping.
Therapeutic Exercise - Engage in targeted exercises designed to enhance strength, expand range of motion, and enhance posture and stability.
Neuromuscular Re-education - Learn how to activate specific muscles (maybe those you were not even aware of!) through tactile and verbal feedback. Retrain the mind-body connection!
What patients say
Meilin is very professional, responsive, and kind! She taught me a lot of things I didn't know about pregnancy, birth, and pelvic floor health. I am happy and comfortable working with her; I feel much more confident that I can stay active during pregnancy and heal quickly after child birth. Highly recommend for pregnant mamas!
- Lauren R.
I started working with Meilin during pregnancy to help ensure a healthy pregnancy that would allow me to stay active, to prepare for labor and to understand more about pelvic floor health. Meilin has been amazing! I have really enjoyed working with her, have learned so much, and plan to continue with Meilin post-partum for recovery. Highly recommend!
- Emily K.
I can’t recommend Meilin enough! We worked together while I was pregnant on back and pelvic floor therapy, and preparing me for labor. Not only did I feel physically better while pregnant after every appointment and with the exercise plan we discussed, but the doctors and nurses were so impressed during my delivery with my breathing and pain management techniques. All thanks to Meilin!

FAQs
-
Many changes to your body occur during pregnancy, like posture shifts in the spine and pelvis, increased strain on the pelvic floor, hormone surges, and ligaments stretching and thickening. Prenatal physical therapy can help expectant mothers manage the physical challenges and discomforts that often come with pregnancy.
-
We encourage women who are pregnant to start as soon as their second trimester. Giving birth is a big event (think full marathon) so the earlier you prepare, the more confident and empowered you will feel going into it!

We are a fee-for-service practice, meaning we are out-of-network with all major insurance companies. You will be responsible for payment at the time of service, but we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Check to see if your plan has out-of-network benefits (many patients receive 50-80% reimbursement).
We don’t want cost to prevent you from receiving the care you need. If payment is a concern, let us know and we can discuss payment on a sliding scale.
-
As you probably already know, working with insurance companies can be frustrating — from reimbursement issues and surprise patient bills to dictating how many sessions and what type of treatment each patient needs during their care. Being a fee-for-service practice, we can focus more time on your care without influence from insurance. Where many in-network clinics have to maintain a high volume of patients (even double-booking appointments) to make enough money through insurance, we’re able to focus on quality of care.
-
We typically recommend weekly sessions for the first 3-4 weeks. As your symptoms improve we’ll typically start to meet less frequently. This will give us time to develop a treatment plan that is effective and sustainable. Once you start to feel better, we can start transitioning you to a maintenance program where you will continue to do your home exercise program, but will not need to come in as frequently.
