About this policy
This policy explains how we handle consumer health data through luminapelvichealth.com under Washington's My Health My Data Act. It is separate from our general Privacy Policy. It does not cover patient records from clinical care, which follow our separate clinical privacy practices and health-information laws, including Washington law.
Consumer health data we collect and why
- Birth Plan Builder answers. The builder uses your health history, pregnancy details, and preferences for labor, birth, recovery, and newborn care to create your plan and save it in your browser. We do not receive or keep those answers, except for the first name and due date described next.
- Birth Plan Builder sign-ups. To unlock the plan's download and print controls, we collect your email, first name, due date, and a record of when you agreed to our emails and Terms. We use this to unlock the controls, keep proof of your choice, and send the birth and postpartum tips and updates you agreed to receive. We use your due date to time those emails to your pregnancy.
- Workshop sign-ups. When you register or join a waitlist, we collect your name, email, due date, which workshop, whether you are registered or waitlisted, how you heard about us, and when you signed up. We use it to run the workshop and its waitlist and to send related messages. If you separately ask for future workshop alerts, we use your email and where you signed up to send them.
- Website activity. Visiting a pregnancy, postpartum, or pelvic-health page may reveal an interest in a health topic. We and our service providers may collect the pages you visit and what you click, the page that sent you, your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, and cookie IDs. We use this data to run, secure, fix, and measure the site.
Where the data comes from
We collect consumer health data directly from you when you use the builder or submit a form, automatically from your browser or device when you use the site, and from the service providers that handle those visits and forms for us. Google Analytics estimates your approximate location from your IP address. We do not buy consumer health data from data brokers.
Service providers that receive it
These service providers (called “processors” under the Act) handle consumer health data for us, for the purposes above:
- Supabase: Birth Plan Builder email, first name, due date, and a record of your agreement.
- Loops: Birth Plan Builder email, first name, due date, a record of your agreement, and whether you are on our mailing list; workshop-alert email and where you signed up.
- Google Workspace: workshop and waitlist name, email, due date, workshop, how you heard about us, status, and sign-up time.
- Vercel (our host) and its security services: pages you request, form entries, IP address, and browser or device details, used to run the site and block spam.
- Google Analytics: health-related pages you visit, the page that sent you, what you click, approximate location, browser and device type, and cookie IDs. We don't send it your name, email, due date, form entries, or birth plan answers.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it with third parties or affiliates, as the My Health My Data Act defines those terms, and we have no affiliates we share it with. The service providers above only handle data on our behalf.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data, and give you access to it. This includes a list of any third parties and affiliates that received it and how to contact them.
- Stop collecting or sharing your consumer health data in the future by withdrawing your consent.
- Delete your consumer health data. We will also pass your request on to the service providers and anyone else who received it.
To use a right, email hello@luminapelvichealth.com from the address connected to your data if you can, and tell us what you want. We will promptly take reasonable steps to confirm the request is from you. Responses are free up to twice a year. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
The unsubscribe link in our marketing emails stops future marketing emails, but it does not delete your data. Email us if you also want your data deleted or want to withdraw other consent.
To delete Birth Plan Builder answers saved only on your device, choose “Start over” in the builder or clear this site's data in your browser. We can't delete a copy we never received.
Response times, deletion, and appeals
We will respond without undue delay and no later than 45 days after we receive your request. If we need more time because a request is complex or we have many requests, we may extend once by another 45 days. If we do, we will tell you why within the first 45 days.
When we approve a deletion request, we will delete the data from our active records and tell the service providers and others who received it to delete it too. Copies in archives or backups may take up to six months after we confirm your request to be fully deleted. We may keep data when the law allows or requires it, and we will explain if we refuse a request.
If we refuse your request, you can appeal. Reply to our decision, or email the address above with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. We will respond in writing within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, we will explain why and tell you how to contact the Washington State Attorney General.
